PHS 1003: PHYSICAL SCIENCE
This course presents an overview of essential topics from astronomy, physics, electricity, chemistry, geology and meteorology. Features biographies of some of the important contributors to advances in the physical sciences. (The course does not satisfy science certification for secondary school teachers; it is not accepted as a major requirement in any natural science field.) Lecture meets three hours per week.
Prerequisites
Must complete all pre-requisites with a grade of "C" or higher
OR have equivalent placement test score
Corequisites
PHS 2014: PHYSICS FOR HEALTH SCIENCES
This course is an algebra and trigonometry-based physics course designed to meet the physics requirements for health science majors. It is not recommended for physics or engineering majors. Topics include mechanics in one and two dimensions, fluids, thermodynamics, and mechanical waves and sound. Lab Component: Laboratory exercises will explore the concepts covered in lecture.
