This course provides the opportunity for students to explore the development of the safety and health movement in the United States. The course focuses on identification of the causes and effects of accidents in the industrial workplace and covers several important safety topics including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ergonomic factors, common hazards found in the workplace, and the roles of managers and health and safety personnel concerning industrial safety.
