Certification by the Arkansas Department of Health as an Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) – Basic is required prior to entry into the Paramedic Program.

ALHE 10503 Medical Terminology
and
BIOL 10253/10151 Essentials of A&P and Essentials of A&P Lab
(BIOL 24003/24001 A&P I or BIOL 24103/24101 A&P II may be substituted for BIOL 10253/10151)
NOTE: All EMT students must maintain American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR throughout the program. Vaccinations-provide proof of two (2) MMR vaccinations and one varicella vaccine or positive titer; negative tuberculin skin test or documentation of appropriate follow-up care in case of positive test results; Hepatitis B series or signed informed consent waiver; and, at the student’s expense, submit to a criminal background check as required by the Arkansas Department of Health for licensure.
NOTE: Students must complete all general education requirements and all Paramedic courses with a grade of “C” or better to successfully complete the program.
